Welcome to my (updated) website. There’s a lot that’s changed in my life and work over the last year or so I hope that there will be a few surprises for you. There certainly have been for me!
The first big change is that I will be back on TV again in the Spring with a new series on BBC 4 called Meet the Ancestors – revisited - there are more details in the TV and Radio section. So perhaps I can return to calling myself an ‘archaeologist, writer and broadcaster’ as I am certainly still (and always will be) an archaeologist and I’m also still writing - have a look in Books.
Inevitably I’m still fascinated by Stonehenge, as I think you may be able to tell from my Diary - lots of talks to groups around the country as well as some weekend outings next year for various specialist tour operators. This is why I will be adding a new Stonehenge section in the website soon so that I can keep everyone up to date with what’s going on in and around that fantastic site.
Beyond Stonehenge (remember the book?) I am increasingly involved in education projects with various schools in the south of England and in a new Education and Outreach section that will be posted in the New Year I’ll report on these as they are happening.
Services is the blatantly commercial part of this site – basically I’m touting for business so take a look and see what I can do to liven up your archaeology.
Despite what some people think there is life beyond archaeology though and some of my other interests – specifically in art and old fast cars can be found in the Odds and Sods section at the end of the site.
And finally – although I still haven’t quite resigned myself to the idea of being a bird I was persuaded to ‘tweet’ at intervals and while I haven’t descended to the level of ‘just had a nice cup of coffee’ (and never will) I do occasionally post the odd thought or rant which can be found on the link to my Twitter Feed. I refuse to do Facebook........
So – have a look. I hope that you enjoy the new site and perhaps I’ll meet up with some of you this year.
Best wishes from
Julian
